Meet the Team

  • We’d love to introduce you to our executive head Chef Renda Ruiz. 

    Hailing from New Orleans, Renda has traveled all around the globe, including living in Central America and Japan. Her first cooking job was at our sister restaurant Calla where she then went on to work under Chef Michael Gulotta at Maypop in New Orleans, Chef Manny Augello Bread & Circus, and Chef Jeremy Conner at Spoonbill in Lafayette. Renda’s idea of a perfect dining experience is a welcoming and intimate atmosphere with unique and bold flavors that grab and transport you. She sees food as a form of connection, healing and art. You’ll see her Central American influence all over the menu which she contributes as an ode to the country she grew up in. 

  • Chef Kevin produces some of the most beautiful plates southwest Louisiana has ever seen. He first started at Johnny Carino's in the ol dish pit at 19 and rapidly moved his way onto the line, where he blossomed to head Chef by the age of 21.

    As Chef Kevin's career advanced his passion grew as well. That evidently led him to fine dining where he was offered a line cook position at 121. Chef Kevin excelled rapidly and became Head Chef in no time. Now He hails at one of our sister restaurants, The James 710 where he and Chef Renda are creating a whole Latin vibe...Hope to see you soon!!!!
